The weather today could not have been better for a walk. Mal had something to collect from Glaisdale so that is where we decided to start from. He Parked his car in the High Street and from there we made our way towards the dale pausing only for me to photograph St Thomas's Church We decided walk along roads and at first we began to regret out decision as there was an unusual amount of traffic which on reflection was probably the school run in progress but after a little while thing calmed down and we began to enjoy ourselves. The route took us clockwise round the dale head until we reached Common Lane where we began the 600 ft climb up to High Moor where we stopped for a few minutes break before continuing on our way towards Glaisdale Rigg. As we neared the junction we noticed that there was what looked like an all terrain vehicle parked at the roadside and I started grumbling about footpaths and bridleways being churned up by inconsiderate people who drive them etc. It was only when we got closer that it became apparent that it was a purpose built ATV for disabled people and the lady using it was doing the Coast to Coast raising money for charity. I soon stopped moaning then.
We finished the walk by following the Rigg along the unmettaled road back into Glaisdale
