I did this walk to see if my feet had recovered from the battering they took on the Coast to Coast which I finished a few days previously and discovered that they were still a little bruised. However that did not stop me from enjoying a day out on home territory again. My route was to simply follow the old railway to Robin Hoods Bay where I went down to the beach and walked along to Stoupe Beck and from there followed the lane up to the transmitter on Beacon Howes and on to Ravenscar village. From the village I took the railway back to Whitby. As I say my feet were still bruised and my leg muscles were a bit sore but I thoroughly enjoyed the outing.
