It is now a month since our C2C but it seems almost like a year. I don't understand why but I have been feeling a bit depressed since we finished it. I am not doing as many miles on the bike as I was and from going out at least five times a week I have only been having two trips out. Obviously I need something to motivate me, but as yet I have nothing definite in mind. John would like us to do the Lands End to John 'o' Groats trip but for various reasons I think it is extremely unlikely that I will be able to make the attempt. There are various other less ambitious projects available to us during the summer months so I think we shall have to set a date for something then and once there is a target to aim for I will have to do something about it.
I wonder if other people feel the same, If anybody thinks it all sound familiar, I would welcome any feedback about how you overcame it (or not as the case may be).
Football ! The European thing was a bit of a let down although I think we did as well as most people expected before the competition started, and we did reach the quarter finals. One thing that I have to live with is the fact that I have an Italian neighbour who has done nothing else but gloat since they beat us. Having said that if England had won I suspect that I would have been doing the gloating. Ah well, It will soon be time for real football again. By real football I mean non league stuff, particularly Whitby Town FC. Last season was a cliffhanger with relegation threatening for much of the season and I suspect we shall have more of the same next season.
