Distance 6.6 miles weather Misty, mild & calm. Climbing 528 ft Difficulty Easy Company Mal, Dennis. Because of the recent wet weather we decided that we would stick to quiet roads for our walk so Mal drove us to Glaidale where we followed the road around the dale. It was a damp morning and there was light mist, but not enough to spoil the views. The only downside was that there seemed to be more traffic than we usually encounter when we come this way on our bikes | Please click on photo |

Weather Mainly overcast but mild Climbing 638 ft Difficulty Easy Company Solo I left home with only a vague idea of where I was going. The weather was not at all promising but I did manage a few photos befor the rain started, I decided to stick to roads and farm lanes rather than risk getting mud up to my eyeballs on the footpaths. I walked around the town to start before heading along Hawsker lane as far as Manor House Farm where I turned off along the lane to Whitby Laithes farm and Gnipe Howe before joining the cinder track for Whitby Please click on pictures to see them full size Distance 10.5 miles
Weather Cool, calm and overcast at first. Climbing 1242 ft Difficulty Fairly easy but some muddy sections Company Solo I caught a bus to Mickleby Road End and set out from there with the intention of walking along Ellerby Lane to the old railway track to start, but after a few minutes I tuned off the road onto a footpath for no other reason than thinking it looked interesting. I did not consult the OS but expected the path to intersect the lane to Runswick. It actually came out back on the main road not too far from where I started. I made my way to Ellerby village, then followed the road to Runswick before making my way home via the Cleveland Way path. |
